Spanish – English true friends

 

Internet, hotel, popular, color, principal. If I told you those words,  would you know what they mean? Well…then your Spanish knowledge is not that bad, because, they are Spanish words which meaning you know. As you can see the words in Spanish and English are the same, and their meanings too.

 

Before we keep seeing some more true friends, importante keep in mind that these words might look identical, but sometimes there are some differences in accent and pronunciation.

 

We are going to see first some perfect true friends (they look exactly the same) and after some not as perfect, they look almost identical but not exactly, they are normally missing a letter.

And again, although the words are very similar the biggest difference is the pronunciation.

 

That is it amigo! Now you are 10 words closer to your Spanish proficiency. Learning these kind of words is a cool way to improve your vocabulary with little effort, so it can be a something to learn or to look at when you are feeling a bit discouraged about your Spanish progress.
